We ended up camping on the SURFACE OF THE SUN
(aka Maryhill State Park in Washington, on the Columbia River).
It was UNBELIEVABLY hot and would have been
completely unbearable, if not for the river.
The dogs especially enjoyed it after a day in the car
Zach found all kinds of amazing rocks--
the entire beach was well worn rocks--
perfect for mom's rock tumbler!
(so mom found some amazing rocks too)
Waaaaaay off in the background (I'm
not even sure if you can see it--nope, you can't),
past the bridge is Mount Hood
