Forward facing!

We decided it was time to turn the boy forward facing in his
car seat since he has met the one year and 20 pound requirements...
so it was quite a momentous day.

I think Chris and I were much more excited about it than Zach was.

Hooray for updates!

I know it's been several days since anything new was posted...but there were some technical difficulties getting pictures posted the other day, and frankly, I just haven't had a lot of time. Summer is winding down, and I'm preparing to host a baby shower for a dear friend, school is starting up soon and I'm still trying to get my new office whipped into shape.

Not to mention, I have this adorable little one year old who demands much of my attention...

The dangle test

At some point or another, almost everything
that Zach comes into contact with will have to pass
his "dangle test."
This highly sophisticated test measures how
well an item will dangle from his pincer grip
WHILE he sucks his thumb and shakes it
up and down...
It's a very serious test, as you can see.

By the way, I think the mouse passed.

an update to the impending blanket crisis...crisis averted. I found two VERY similar blankets on ebay (LOVE ebay!!!!) that are working very nicely as stand ins...so I think we're covered.

Nap confusion...

We are still trying to work out this nap thing...Zach is all over the board with naps--sometimes he only takes an hour nap in the morning and nothing else. Sometimes two and a half hours in the morning and another half hour in the afternoon. Sometimes he's asleep by a little after 1000 am, and other times, he makes it till 1100.

So I'm not really sure if we're dropping a nap or not. We're trying to play it by ear, but it's a bit tricky...especially since he has had a few GRUMPY days (teeth??)--we don't want to push our luck with the sleep issue too much.
