This is what I found when I went in to get Z from his nap...

7.14.05
...yup, he figured out how to pull himself up.
And you can see he was pretty proud of it too!

Silly mom...

Thank you Grandma!!

Walkin' (of sorts)

7.11.05
For his birthday, Zachary got this wonderful
FP activity walker from Harry & Linda (thanks, guys!), and
now that he has figured out that it works
as well in Idaho as it did in Oregon,
he enjoys tooling around the living room with it

Softness

Is there anything on earth as soft or as wonderful as baby skin??

With Daisy

and some great light...

And he sits!

On his own! His new trick today is to get from a prone position to laying down...which is going to make for interesting bedtimes, I think. Chris and I were cracking up, watching him bobbing around in his crib this evening...he'll be crawling out of his crib before we know it.

His new trick YESTERDAY was discovering that if he bends over while he's in the tub, he can DRINK the water (or at least try to)! He was so proud of this discovery...and I wish I'd had the camera, because when he came up with bubbles on his chin and lips and a big grin, it was the cutest thing I have ever seen (aside from every other cute thing he does). He did try this trick today in his swimming pool too...I guess he thought if Sidney was drinking from it, why not him too??

My head just spins at how quickly he is changing...he really will be graduating from high school in the mere blink of an eye.

Vacation pics

July 2005
We had a wonderful time on the coast, and Zachary was
darn near the best little traveller we could have asked for.
We did all kinds of fun things, saw amazing things, touched neat things,
and ate new things (mostly food, tho there was an incident with some sand...)

At the Oregon Coast Aquarium...Zach loved looking in the salmon tank

First foray into the sand...

Enjoying the sunshine!

This was moments before the sand in the mouth incident...

Mom said, "it's the beach! Who cares if he gets dirty?!"

Gawking at a GIANT sea lion on the dock below

Playing with the shark he got with his drink at Mo's

Ahhh....a new friend!

All tuckered out!

7.06.2005

We're outta here...

Yup, it's 4AM and we are about to commence our vacation... on about 3.5 hours of sleep for me... Anyway, we'll return on the 11th, so watch for pics and updates sometime thereafter!

Safe travels...

The Monkey Dooz experience...

7.05.05
When we walked in, Chris said, "Wow! I want to get my hair cut here!"
Zach got his hair cut in the Mercedes 300SL (the first car)

He thought it was pretty fun...

...and even this wasn't bad...

...now he's not having quite so much fun...

...he's definitely making his displeasure known at this point...

Hippy no more

7.05.05
Before...

...And after
Doesn't he look handsome??
He did really well, didn't even cry, until the clippers came out...
and then all bets were off...you can see in this picture that he
still hadn't fully recovered...

Haircut

Tomorrow is Zach's first haircut...altho I feel a tiny bit sad about it, I am so excited, I may not be able to sleep tonite.

Is it ridiculous to take both the photo camera AND the video camera? Probably...but hey, that's me! :)

I expect he'll probably cry, but I think it's going to be a great adventure...with a little boy who's even more adorable (if that's even possible) emerging.

Oh, and we go back to Dr. M tomorrow to have Z's ears and tubes checked...so a big day all around.

Happy Independence Day!!

7.04.05
What a wonderful day we had...
Zach's first real swimming pool excursion (you can see, he was just chillin')

Touring the pool with daddy

Drying off in the sun, but really wanting to get right back in...

Dig his cool beachcomber look?

Isn't he the most adorable baby you've ever seen?
I'm so glad that he was born in the United States...
he will have so many wonderful opportunities in his life
simply because of that fact.
What a lucky little guy.
(and no one got sun burned!!!)

Silly faces

More "climbing wall" fun...

This picture cracks me up...

Big events...

So in the next few days, we have many big things coming up...

**Tomorrow, Zachary will have his first real swimming pool experience at our July 4th celebration with relatives! I got him a groovy float to try out, so that will be fun.

**Tuesday is the big haircut day!!

**And Wednesday, we go on our FIRST FAMILY VACATION! We are going to the Oregon Coast for a few days, which will be a wonderful adventure for all of us. I'm a little worried about having enough camera memory for all the pictures I'll undoubtedly take (I know this comes as a huge surprise to anyone who knows me), but I've also packed the old fashioned film camera and 3 rolls of 24 exposures... I should figure out what my daily allotment of shots will be so that I don't use them all up on the first day. :) Unfortunately, the dogs don't get to go this time, but Auntie K will stay with them and feed them lots of goodies (which to them is almost as good as running on the beach).

What a fun-filled month July is!

Great grapes

Zachary LOVES grapes.

Now, before you panic and think, "But they're a choking hazard!!!" you need to know that we cut them up into small pieces (far too small to choke on) before giving them to him.

I think they're his new favorite food.

The "climbing wall"

6.30.05
Zachary has discovered how much fun the baby/dog gate is,
and "climbing" it is one of his favorite daily activities.
(isn't he cute in his Bronco blue and orange? Thanks Kenny & Suz!)

I was looking back at our old webpage to see my posts from a year ago, and thought I would share the link here, in case anyone else is interested in looking at them as well.

Sure brings back memories!!!

Tug of war with Sid...

7.01.05
Zach found a stick while he was "swimming" and Sidney decided that she wanted it.
So she gently took one end in her mouth, which Zach thought was hilarious...

...and she pulled and pulled.
The next shot (had I taken it) would have been Zach flopped out
of the pool, laying on his side, and Sid
running off in the distance with the stick.
And Zach didn't even cry!

My little hippy

7.01.05
It's good that he's getting a haircut next week...

How old do they have to be before they can do chores?

7.01.05
Zach loves to "play" with the dustmop.
Mommy loves it too...but he doesn't get the corners
very well.

Cute cute cute

6.20.05
Sorry for the lack of pictures recently...we were experiencing technical difficulties!
