Some things I never knew before becoming a mom:

• That I could love another human being so much
• That I could find so much joy in the simple things in life
  
• That babies could poop so much
• That I used to have SO much free time!!! What did I do with it all?
• That watching a baby sleep could be so gratifying
• That I used to take sleep for granted
• That a smile could melt my heart so completely
• That I would love shopping for baby clothes and acoutrements so much
• That babies grow up in the blink of an eye--really
  
• That I am so bad at ambiguity and uncertainty
• That I don't have to be the perfect mother to be loved by and raise my wonderful son
